A Hermitage homeowner contacted Highlander Waterproofing & Foundation Repair after a basement foundation wall began bowing inward and cracking. A different contractor had installed a waterproofing system several years earlier, but the wall movement developed after that work was completed. The system was managing water, but it was not providing the structural reinforcement the wall needed.
The original installer told the homeowner that the wall could not be reinforced without first removing the waterproofing system. That approach would have required tearing out work the homeowner had already paid for before the structural repair could begin.
Highlander assessed the bowing and cracking and developed a repair using Carbon Guard Carbon Fiber Wall Reinforcement Straps. The team planned the strap locations and terminations around the existing waterproofing installation so the wall could be reinforced without removing the system.
After preparing the block surface, a certified Highlander crew installed full-height carbon fiber straps at engineered spacing along the affected wall. The straps were tied into the floor framing above and anchored at the base. Base terminations were finished around the waterproofing system, which remained in place and in service throughout the work.
